Mannie's is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of the rich, unpretentious essence of seafood dining. An old-school fried fish restaurant, it has earned its stripes as a local favorite thanks to consistently good food and exceptional service. Many patrons, like Carlos R., describe Mannie's as a place where birthdays and good memories are made—making it feel more like a family gathering than a mere dining experience.

When you peruse the menu, you’ll find an array of appetizers that lay the groundwork for a delightful meal. With choices like Tostadas De Ceviche for just $4.95 or crispy Fried Squid at $5.95, every bite is an invitation to savor the freshness of the ocean. Customers rave about items like the Hot Boiled Shrimp and the variety of seafood available by the pound, from Crawfish Tails at $17.99 to Octopus at $18.99. There’s something here for everyone, regardless of your seafood preference.

Much like Rex C. noted in his review, Mannie's offers a unique charm, reminiscent of other seafood spots but distinctly its own with creative dishes like the fantastic egg rolls, a surprising and delicious addition to the menu. The ambiance may be considered outdated by some, yet it remains inviting and clean, making it ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends. Edwin G. appreciates the value, noting that the prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially for lunch specials that cater to those looking for a satisfying midday escape.

For drinks, you can refresh your palate with a Frozen Margarita or a classic Coke Mexicana, both priced well at under $3.50. And if you’re in the mood for something warm, Iced Tea is available with free refills, ensuring you stay hydrated while indulging in all that seafood goodness.

In a world filled with seafood dining options, Mannie’s stands out as a cherished neighborhood spot. It draws in patrons not just for the food, but for the community spirit that fills the air. As Rachel D. fondly attests, this is a place where generations of families have woven their love for seafood into the fabric of delightful memories. I have been going to Mannie's Seafood since I was a little girl! I was in love with their food then and I'm still in love with their food now! The prices are reasonable and the service is good. If you want some good seafood go to Mannie's.

I guess this is the south side version of mambo, seafood, or Connies. I guess the southside has her own version of everything in the north side. So I decided to give this place to try with my girlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed it. The food is really good. I went with my normal, two piece, fish and six shrimp and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. One thing they didn't have is the habanero hot sauce which I love from mambos. Also, I think mambos has way better fried rice, but I will give Mannys this they have eggrolls which were absolutely amazing and I've never seen any of their competitors so props to them for that. They are very tasty too! The prices are great too! Whenever I am in the SE I'll definitely give them a try. However I do wish they would start stocking the habanero hot sauce.
